October comes with its veil of leaves and a desire for enchanted evenings, like those you’ll enjoy at The Hole. This magical show returns to Madrid right in the fall with its Zero version. Its blend of cabaret and discotheque based on Studio 54 will fill the Calderón Theater (Atocha, 18) with a colorful music and a show never-before-seen in Spain, capable of turning a regular night into an unforgettable evening. This time, it’s time for disco music. Your legs will still be moving to its rhythm after you’ve arrived at your Flat Sweet Home Prado, located very close to this unique show.
The Hole takes you back in time to Studio 54, and The Art of the Brick: Super Heroes takes you back to your childhood. In this special exhibition, you will find two old childhood obsessions: Legos and comics. The Fernán Gómez theater at Plaza del Colón, number 4, awaits you with figures made of blocks of nostalgia. From your Flat Sweet Home Serrano window, you can almost see Nathan Sawaya‘s work. He’s an American lawyer who’s transformed his childhood passions into art.
If you want to see the peculiarities of the new, modern Madrid, you can’t miss this show. Talented theater actor Rafa Maza stars in Hey Bro! Hipster Show, a comical reflection of the city’s hipster culture, and a unique way to have a laugh and see the most authentic Madrid, presenting at the Luchana Theatre (Luchana, 38), located in the beautiful Chamberí neighborhood. Another alternative to reach the capital’s soul is Popfest, a celebration of local pop talent. On Friday, September 30, colorful artists like Betacam al Piano, Pete Astor, and Juvenilia present you with the authentic sound of Madrid at Clamores (Albuquerque, 14).
To finish this week of plans as exciting as your Flat Sweet Home, we propose a different kind of theater. This genre is alive with words that cross over the iconic sala Berlanga (Andrés Mellado, 53) to listen to them without masks or characters. The scripts for plays like Carne de membrillo, by Amanda Rodriguez; or Tsunami, by Guillermo Heras, will make you fall in love again with good scripts on October 5, in the exciting show El teatro que se lee.
